How to determine the #GIS #raster #resolution and #calculate #area

Here is a video on how to determine the raster resolution and calculate area. This video was made in response to Youtube +cojut who posed an interesting comment that you cannot use “calculate geometry” in raster, as one would in polygons. That is a true statement, in fact, to do so can be done by deriving the raster cell resolution and counting the number of “data”-containing cells. Enjoy.

Too many duplicate labels, try the dissolve tool

One of the most frustrating dilemma when making a map is finding duplicate labels because the polygons can be further simplified.  The quickest solution is the manually enter these “labels”, but when manually done, entries may not be as dynamic.  In the following videos is one method to dissolve entries in the attribute table, thus simplifying your map.  In turn, simplifying the map will also simplify your labels.
